About my class: My mathematics classes are a blend of traditional teaching/learning and technology based instruction.&nbsp; The classes are on a 90 minute block.&nbsp; I spend approximately 45 minutes each class in lessons using many traditional teaching strategies such as direct instruction, guided discovery, cooperative learning, etc.&nbsp; The second half of the class, I use an online program called IXL Math to reinforce the objectives taught.&nbsp; Students will work on 4-7 IXL assignments each week during class.&nbsp; If the assignments are not completed in class, students can access the program at home to complete the work.&nbsp; These assignments are taken each week as daily classwork grades.&nbsp; Students should not let these assignments build up; they need to work consistently and steadily as we grow.&nbsp;&nbsp; Homework: I do assign homework; I do not assign it everyday. &nbsp;Absences: If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to check with the teacher for missed assignments.Quizzes: Quizzes may or may not be announced. &nbsp;TESTS:&nbsp; Tests will always be announced.Notes: Notes are to be recorded daily in notebook. Supplies:&nbsp;notebook with 2 sections, pencils, red pens, loose-leaf paper, hand held pencil sharpener, protractor,&nbsp; simple four function calculator with integer key and square root key &nbsp; (I do not furnish calculators; Cell phones are not a substitute for calculator.) Expectations:<ul class="ul1" style="font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;"><li class="li4">Responsibility&nbsp;and&nbsp;organization&nbsp;are keys to a successful school year.&nbsp; Students will keep a daily notes and classwork notebook in my class.&nbsp;</li><li class="li4">Students are expected to record all objectives, assignments, classwork and any other information provided for this class in planner each day.</li><li class="li4">All IXL assignments should be completed on time.</li><li class="li4">All students are expected to properly address their papers with name, number,&nbsp; and date in the upper right hand corner.&nbsp;</li><li class="li4">The&nbsp; Lamar County Handbook rules and Mrs. Morris’s Classroom Expectations will be followed.</li><li class="li4">Communicate with me directly when you need help of any kind.&nbsp;</li><li class="li4">No food or drink in the classroom unless special permission is given by teacher.
